Description
Areas of need:
- Teaching English as a Second Language in grades 5-10 ( a teaching certificate for Jr High is sufficient since it is an ESL classroom)
- English Lit and Composition in grades 11-13.
- Spanish as a foreign language grades 7-12
- Music
- Art
- Athletics
- Computer Science
Other responsibilities and opportunities:
- subbing
- field trips
- recess
- after school clubs (beekeeping, gardening, chess, choir, instruments, drama, sewing, dance, photo and film, art, . . . )
- classroom assistant for IEP students
- tutoring
- chapel services
- community outreach
- camp
A language assistant would be expected to attend German classes at the community college to learn or improve their German.
A teacher with a European C1 equivalent certification in German and a MA in any subject would qualify for a German teaching certificate and full pay with benefits.
